Zelgadis Greywords, though his last name is sometimes called "Greyways", "Greywaters", etc.
Species:
He was originally a human, but a wish to become stronger spurned the sorceror-priest Rezo to help him out like a good grampa should... by turning him into a supafunky freakazoid! He became part human, part
demon, and part golem -- a chimera. He is eternally ashamed of his appearance but all his fangirls would be more than happy to comb his prickly purple hair and shine the stones all over his fine self.
Age:
No idea. I've heard like 23 before, but that's kinda... old (I mean for the characters being mostly teenagers and all)? He's probably between 17 and 20. Then again, being magically enhanced (chimera!), he could be way older!
Occupation:
Swordsman/ Sorceror specializing in astral magic attacks (Shamanist magic?). He's also the gang's "Travelling freak show".
Relations:
The only one we hear of is Rezo, the main villian in the first Slayers series who is either his grandfather, great-grandfather, or both (!?). Yeah, I don't get it either!
Favorate Food/Beverage:
Tea! Day and Night, Tea is the one! Of course there are some who say it is coffee that he's always drinking, but who can tell? Dig that Naira-naira Hot Pot!
Love Interests:
He seems to have a quasi-romantic unofficial relationship with Amelia(though we all know it was a last-minute thing thrown together by the writers and actually quite unlikely in all reality), but no matter who he was in love with, he'd never admit it. He is, like all the other guys, paired with pretty much every Slayers girl under the sun, but the second most pairing is... with Xellos! They have a cobra (Zel) / giggly & horny mongoose (Xel) relationship, and we all know how funny it would look if they ever hooked up ^_~.
What's His Sign?
This is not actual info, but I assembled a Slayers Zodiac once, and he fit Capricorn. I guess he could be a Virgo, but ya know (Virgo was taken by Filia).
Hobbies:
Tea (or is it coffee?), being mysterious, finding a cure for his "malady" (yeah right! malady or no, the chicks still dig him!), listening to Bach (okay I made that one up ^-^).
Voice Actor:
Japanese: Hikaru Midorikawa (aka Heero Yuy, Seto Kaiba, and a bunch of other similar characters), an excellent singer as well!
English: In the first half of season 1, he's played by Danny Cronin, the cool, suave, dignified Zel. After that, he's played by Crispin Freeman, the uptight, deep-voiced, somewhat dignified Zel (but it works out in the end; Zel looses his coolness after season 1)
